Las Vegas Film Festival
The Las Vegas Film Festival is an international cinema event dedicated to celebrating independent film, contemporary storytelling, and global cinema. Filmmakers, audiences, and industry professionals gather in Las Vegas for eight days in January for screenings, premieres, filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions, networking events, and the Gala Awards Night.
The Las Vegas Film Festival goes beyond eight days in January. From independent film showcases and emerging-media programs to networking events, and collaborations with local venues and cultural institutions, our year round programming keeps cinema connected to the energy of the city.
ShortCut Cinema Awards
The ShortCut Cinema Awards bring the Las Vegas Film Festival back to the screen each September with a celebration of short-form and emerging visual storytelling. The program recognizes outstanding short films alongside the rapidly evolving formats shaping how audiences experience entertainment today including vertical films, video podcasts, social media storytelling, music videos, and episodic content.
As a companion event to the January Festival, the ShortCut Cinema Awards gives creators another stage in Las Vegas and another opportunity to have their work discovered, screened, and celebrated. Great storytelling doesn’t depend on running time, format, or screen size, it depends on the story.
Curated Film Series
Beginning this fall, the Las Vegas Film Festival expands to a weekly big-screen experience at Brenden Theatres at the Palms. The Curated Film Series will offer audiences a regularly changing lineup of distinctive cinema selected for discovery, conversation, and the simple pleasure of seeing great films in a theater.
Programming will reach across eras, genres, and borders from independent and international cinema to cult favorites, rediscovered classics, filmmaker spotlights, and special presentations. It’s a place to discover something new, revisit something unforgettable, and make the Las Vegas Film Festival part of the city’s moviegoing experience every week.
Community Screenings
Cinema belongs on the big screen and throughout the year, the Las Vegas Film Festival creates opportunities to experience independent films together. Our Community Screenings bring distinctive features, documentaries, shorts, and special presentations to audiences at locations across Las Vegas.
These events extend the Festival beyond January, creating an ongoing meeting place for filmmakers, film lovers, and the city’s creative community. Select screenings may also feature filmmaker Q&As, guest appearances, conversations, and special programs designed to make each night more than simply a movie.
